Soy Glazed Brussels Sprouts

Soy Glaze

Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp Hoisin Sauce
  • ½ tbsp Soy Sauce
  • ¼ tbsp Honey
  • ¼ tbsp Garlic Sambal (Garlic Chili Sauce)
  • ¼ tbsp Lime Juice

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. 
  2. Mix well.

(This will give you about twice the amount of sauce needed for the recipe below.)

Brussel Sprouts

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Brussels Sprouts (halved)
  • 2 tbsp Canola Oil
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)
  • ¼ cup Bacon (quarter slices)
  • ¼ cup Soy Glaze, see above
  • 1 tbsp Scallion (Green Onions), bias cut

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 °F. 
  2. Lightly coat cut Brussels sprouts with 1 Tbsp. oil, and season with salt and pepper. 
  3. Roast in 400 degree oven 10-15 minutes, or until they begin to look nicely roasted and browned. Brussels sprouts should be slightly soft to the touch, but still be firm overall 
  4. Remove roasted Brussels sprouts from oven and reserve for serving. 
  5. While the brussels sprouts are roasting, dd remaining Tbsp. oil to sauté pan on medium high heat and add bacon. Sauté until bacon is lightly browned and not crispy. Remove bacon from pan, but leave bacon fat and oil in pan. 
  6. Add roasted Brussels sprouts to pan, and toss gently. Cook 4–5 minutes until fully cooked through. 
  7. Add bacon and Soy Glaze. Toss and sauté until evenly coated and hot, approx. 30 seconds. 
  8. Place in warm serving dish and garnish with sliced scallions. 
  9. Garnish with fresh, bias-cut scallion.
